- Northern Recreation Coordinator (NRCC)
Alice came from Pukatawagan, Manitoba but has been in Sandy Bay for 30
years
now. Her list of roles and tasks is enough to fill a school blackboard:
northern
recreation coordinator (NRCC), housing committee volunteer, Kids First
North
home visitor and even with all this, a local housing volunteer. Where
does she
get all the energy for her work? She wants to motivate students (and others)
to pursue their dreams, goals and best possibilities. She does this through
encouragement, support and providing opportunities for youth to participate.

Morin - Principal
Quick Facts - Barb is the Elementary Principal at Rossignol School
in Ile a la Crosse. If you don't find her at the school or at community
event, you will find her making stuff with her hands, or cheering on her
local hockey team.

through sports and hosting many events. He likes hunting and spending

school bus today. It is even more of a miracle that he is walking.

Forrest - Coach and Athlete
Quick Facts - Cory loves cross country skiing and mountain biking.
When he isn't on the slopes, you can find him working out in a gym, jogging
on bush trails, or coaching other students in the fine art of racing.
Cory has been the provincial racing champion in cross country skiing for
7 years, and the provincial champion in mountain biking for the past 5
years. He is currently attending university in Utah, and working towards
a degree in business and commerce

McDonald - Assistant Coordinator
Quick Facts - Elizabeth has lived in Stony Rapids all her young
life. Her present mission is to work with children and young people who
use the services of the family wellness centre located in the school.

meetings, fixing trucks, hunting or fishing, curling, or relaxing at home.

Quick Facts - Geraldine is a high school teacher at Canoe Lake,
you will find her at home playing with her children or on the soccer field
organizing a little league soccer team for Beauval. She is currently the
Chairperson of the Local School Board for Valley View School

Quick Facts - Glen is currently the vice principal of the high
school in I'le a la Crosse. You will find him coaching various teams after

enjoys being a hockey mom, and if you don't find her at the arena, you
will find her at the School where she volunteers her time as a local School
Board member.

When Jim is not flying, you can find him in his back yard working on his

Quick Facts - When Joe isn't working for Northlands College as
the western Regional Director, you can find him working at the mayor's
office (his 3rd term), helping out at community events, or getting a crowd
singing with his karoke machine.

Halkett - Water Treatment Operator
Quick Facts - Born in La Ronge, Joe attended school at Precam
school in La Ronge then later went on to a boarding school in Timber Bay.
His next move saw him go to Niagara Falls where he enrolled in a private
high school. When he returned home, he worked full-time for his father's
company, Halkett's Septic Service, one of the few bandmember-owned businesses
on the reserve at the time.

Waite - Businessman
Quick Facts - John is a Buffalo Narrows business man, who enjoys
the outdoors. If you don't find him on the water in the summer, you will
find him in the arena in the winter. John volunteers his time as a town
councillor as well.

Quick Facts - Lance is the principal of Buffalo River First Nations
School. When he isn't working with kids at school, you can find him building
a new cabin and a garage, or you can find him skidooing, fishing, duck
hunting or being at home with his family making crafts

Quick Facts - Leda works for Northern Lights School Division as
a consultant. When is not in the office, you can find her relaxing at
home with her husband, or spending time at their cabin on LaPonge Lake,
or visiting her parents.

Quick Facts - Leonard can be found meeting with executives trying
to get businesses to either locate in Cole Bay or invest in the people
there, or you can find him working outdoors, enjoying Nature's Bounty

Roberts - Journeyman Electrician
Quick Facts - For all the thousands of hours he spent apprenticing
on-the-job and sitting in a classroom, Leonard Roberts has fulfilled his
journey of becoming a journeyman electrician. Its only a matter of time
before his business, Eagle Sky Electric, will be submitting bids for electric
contract work in northern Saskatchewan.

- Social Worker
Quick Facts - Linda was born in the only hospital that ever existed
in Sandy Bay and has lived
there all her life. Presently she does many jobs in the community including
social work, healing and talking circle organization and parish work.

Quick Facts - Sheila grew up in Stony Rapids and except for some
training she took in Prince Albert, has lived there all her life. She
is currently the Senior Financial Officer at the hospital. Her job is
to pay bills, prepare financial statements and budgets and generally be
a good manager of her department. Sheila learned a lot about her field
by taking training in business administration at SIIT in Prince Albert.

Nelson - Community Health Nurse Manager
Quick Facts - Shirley grew up in Weyakwin but has lived in La
Ronge for almost ten years.
As a young girl she visited an uncle on his death bed and recalls wishing

the time that she could help him get better. She traces her interest in
nursing
back to an early desire to work in a health field. After high school,

in Nursing degree.

Quick Facts - Stewart "B-Boy" Daigneault lives in Beauval. He
enjoys working in wood, stone, bone, and stuff like that. His mother worked
with her hands, she worked on hides, she did a lot of bead work, a lot
of birch bark work. Just to grow up around her was a real teaching.

teaching in Dillion. He enjoys music, reading, traveling, and being the
father for two girls he is raising. If you don't find him in school, you
might locate him at his favorite fishing hole trying to catch the huge
one that got away.

Quick Facts - The Carlson name in La Ronge is often linked to
commercial fishing and taxies, but one Carlson has made a name for himself
as a mechanic. Tom Carlson is a journeyman mechanic, who has been working
